Jewelweed is a native shrub found growing in shady, damp soil, often alongside poison ivy, and has long been used as an herbal remedy for poison ivy rashes in addition to bee and nettle stings. Its anti-inflammatory and antipruitic properties also make it effective at treating contact dermatitis, hives, and light burns.
 
Broadleaf Plantain is a naturalised species that has long been used in poultices for its own anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties, complementing the jewelweed in reducing irritation and redness.

These have been infused into an olive oil and beeswax balm with a light fragrance that can be applied on a wide range of skin irritations.
